Background
I am an FRCS (Tr & Orth) qualified ST8 Senior Registrar in Trauma & Orthopaedics at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with a subspecialty interest in shoulder surgery developed through fellowship training, clinical practice, and shoulder-focused research.
I completed a six-month fellowship in shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty under Dr Mark Haber in Sydney, covering the full spectrum of shoulder surgery: arthroscopy, primary and revision arthroplasty, and the management of complex glenoid bone loss. My research there on computer-assisted live navigation for glenoid baseplate fixation was presented at the ISKSAA–BESS conference and won the ISKSAA Researcher of the Year Award in 2019. I also trained as an observer under Professor Giovanni Di Giacomo at the Concordia Hospital for Special Surgery in Rome.
I currently work in the Upper Limb and Shoulder unit across Gloucester Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals, managing upper limb trauma, running independent trauma lists, and performing reverse total shoulder replacement. I presented podium research at the British Elbow and Shoulder Society annual meeting in 2021 and e-tutor on the University of Edinburgh's MSc Surgical Sciences programme.
Alongside clinical work, I design and build software for surgeons and patients: portfolio tracking, surgical logbooks, outcome collection, and AI-assisted dictation. The aim in each case is the same — remove friction from clinical work.
